The first 45 minutes is one the Rovers will want to forget in this one as they didn’t really get their football going. They took an early lead when Charlie headed home a brilliant cross from Bernie. Bleakwood struck back from the spot after the ref judged Tom H tackle to be a foul just inside the box. With the 1st half closing out the Rovers finally start to knock the back about and Charlie scored his second to put the Rovers back in front before Bernie finished off a brilliant attacking move by cutting inside and finding the bottom corner.
The 2nd half and a few changes at half time saw the Rovers at their best and they quickly showed their dominance with James and Bernie quickly adding the 4th and 5th goals of the match after some brilliant football. Bleakwood kept battling away and after some sloppy defending from the Rovers pulled one back to make the score 5-2. The Rovers really came into their own in the final 25 minutes and put together some wonderful passing moves which twice saw Ryan on the end off two low crosses to score his first two goals for the club. James then grabbed his 2nd and the Rovers 8th after another quick passing move saw him picked out at the back post. Draper rounded up the scoring tapping home the rebound after Niall’s effort rattled the crossbar to put the icing on the cake. The Rovers, with Niall looking to open his account for the club, could have ended the day in double figures if it hadn’t been for the woodwork on two occasions before the final whistle.
